Ten Classic Picture Books
- Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell – Love the flaps. Loved making silly animal sounds with my kids
- Goodnight Gorilla by Peggy Rathman – My kids loved the detailed pictures and making up their own words to the story.
- Click Clack Moo, Cows that Type by Doreen Cronin – Cows making demands is hilarious. Love the farm dynamic.
- Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon by Patty Lovell – One of my favorite social emotional books. Be confident and proud of yourself
- Go Do Go! by P.D. Eastman – One of the first books my kids memorized and learned to read. Loved seeing it as a puppet show when they were younger.
- The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by John Scieszka – Fractured fairytales are one of my all time favorite tropes. What if the wolf was framed?
- Tacky the Penguin by Helen Lester – Loved that Tacky the penguin was not perfect, neat, or angelic. Yet his differences still helped him save the day.
- The Paperboy Princess by Walter Munsch – When her castle is burned down and her prince stolen, Elizabeth uses her smarts to outwit the dragon. I love breaking down stereotypes.
- Good Dog Carl by Alexandra Day – A practically wordless book that has a dog babysitting a child. My kids adored this one.
- The Going to Bed Book by Sandra Boynton – Every baby needs at least one Boynton book. This one is my favorite. It’s cute, short, and the illustrations are awesome.
